The project "eHealth" is part of the interdisciplinary project-house HumTec (Human and Technology) at the RWTH Aachen University. Researchers of several fields (Computer Science, Communication Science, Medical Engineering, Psychology and Architecture) develop integrative, multidisciplinary concepts for user-oriented eHealth Systems. The objective is to create an intelligent environment (space in the broadest sense), that will support individuals and that can adapt to central parameters of the subject like course of disease or the current situation in life. Concepts that allow elderly with heart diseases to longer stay in their well-known environment are explored exemplarily.

Core to the research in terms of architecture will be a room in which some future concepts and technologies will be tested at a scale of 1:1. Throughout the project, elderly will be invited to this test environment thus integrating the target group into research and development and to guarantee a user-oriented point of view.
