Abstract
This thesis examines the perceptions of landscape amongst young planners within the context of renewable energy. With the method of survey (questionnaires) three types of landscapes are examined more closely: everyday landscapes, landscapes or places of longing and energy landscapes. Students from the field of landscape architecture and architecture were asked to respond. At the same time, the predominant professional approaches for evaluating renewable energy in the landscape were established using the method of discourse analysis. This made it possible to compare the different professional approaches and the results of the survey. In order to classify and evaluate the results (survey / discourse analysis), further subject areas were considered: the historical-theoretical context of the concept of landscape, existing studies on the subject of landscape perception and theories of environmental psychology. Three thematic excursions complete the accompanying study. The methodological focus of the work is not upon the statistical evaluation of survey results. In contrast, the theoretical background and the emergence of the technical approaches or landscape concepts, especially more conservative nature conservation / landscape protection, appeared to be more important. In this work, the evaluation of numbers was less of interest than the question of how professional positions (narratives) come about (genesis). Therefore, the question of how the concept of landscape is constructed and how the construct of the energy landscape might develop, occupies a key position in this work. An important finding of this work is that the term "energy landscape" is a consequence of the exclusion of energy related functions from the concept of landscape. This exclusion is closely related to the negative perception of technology in the 19th century. One result of the survey is that the students show greater acceptance of regenerative energy technologies in the landscape, in contrast to more conservative nature conservation / landscape protection management. However, how the students regard nature or "wild" nature seems to be problematic: Nature should definitely be protected and not used. The anthropogenic influence upon nature is overlooked. The term "cultural landscape" is equated with historical cultural landscapes, with some students being unable to interpret the term. A final result of the work: evaluations are based upon on expectations and assumptions. Reviews are therefore not individually determined, but have a history of origin. The negative evaluation of regenerative energy technologies in the landscape says more about the expectations / perceptions with regard to the landscape construct rather than about the technical artefacts of the energy transition themselves
